Waz
was wonderful. He started a bit early, so the venue was still kinda
empty. It felt a little weird. Someday more people will know of him and
come to appreciate his work. I don't have a tracklisting of his set, but
he did songs off of his EP as well as some new tracks.
The More was the second band. I listened to a bit of their stuff
and they were alright. I would've stayed if the screeching of the mic
didn't go off every other minute. My brother and I headed off to the bar
area of the Croc where we saw Waz,
Minibar,
and of course my friends.
While my brother stayed on that side of the venue I went over to the
merch booth where Simon was writing out the set lists. I was introduced
to him earlier that night (yet again). I did asked to see if they would
do "Sheer Volume." They didn't do it, because when another guy
came up and asked for an "oldie" Simon mentioned that they
wanted to push some of the new material. That I could understand.
Minibar
rocked the place! The Croc definitely has better sound than the
Tractor Tavern. Even though I didn't find my spot until the last minute
I was able to get close to the stage. About 3 other gals around me were
taking photographs. I was too.
Here's the setlist. Although I think they changed a few things: Crash
& Burn, Desert, New Mexico, Wide Open (my
fav), Radar, Biker, Crime Scene, Unstoppable,
Soho, and Somebody. Twice Simon's strings broke and he
ended up having to use Waz's
guitar. Mal was fantastic as usual and I think Tim and Sid like to
switch sides of the stage? So since I was close on Sid's side again I
whisked away his set list after the show.
Afterwards, there was just mingle time. I got to meet Waz
(whom I couldn't say a decent sentence around), Mal (whom I also
couldn't say a decent thing around either) and he signed my poster, and
Simon (I was speechless). LOL. I said goodbye to my friends, and really
had a great time at the Croc. Life is better on the inside!
