Minibar
Memphis Radio Kings
February 15, 2004 - Tractor Tavern - Seattle, WA

I had a blast seeing Minibar

My brother and I got there a little after 8pm. It was nice to find parking that was close by and free! The place was kinda empty when we got there so we just sat by the merch table. Everyone seemed to know each other (as this was advertised to be a private party).

I didn't do much talking tonight overall, but I should've taken the opportunity to speak to Simon Petty who visited the merch table twice. That British accent of his kills me! I saw Malcolm Cross running around as well.

The opening band, Memphis Radio Kings, certainly fit within the atmosphere of the Tavern. Some slight rock twang. They weren't bad.

By the time Minibar got on stage the floor was pretty empty. My brother and I opted to lean against the brick wall. No one blocked my view really except the occasional band or dj or someone carrying stuff out the exit door by the stage. Unfortunately, during the middle of one of Minibar's songs a young woman tripped over a line on her way to the exit and fell flat on the floor. How embarrassing! I didn't see her for the rest of the night, but I hope she was ok.

Being where I was I had a pretty nice view of all the guys including Mal who was just fantastic on drums. At times I thought his arms would fly off, but they didn't. I took a few photos (as were a few others) but I haven't had the chance to look at them yet. Hopefully some were decent.

Here's the setlist:
1. Retrospect
2. Choked Up
3. Breathe Easy
4. Fly Below The Radar
5. Wide Open
6. New Mexico
7. Ask
8. Sheer Volume of Traffic
9. Somebody Down Here Loves You
10. Unstoppable
11. CAB
12. So Long Soho
13. Six Foot

*sighs* I can't wait until Thursday to see them again with WAZ!
