* Low Stars *
Marc Broussard
Toad The Wet Sprocket
Los Lonely Boys

Chris Seefried.

It's been a couple of months since I went to a concert so I was full of anticipation for the Low Stars. I got to the venue about 30 minutes before performances were to begin. Asked a gal from the station when each of the performers were going on and to my relief the Low Stars were up first.

Jude.

So I went to my reserved seat in the 3rd row aisle. Very nice spot I have to say. Shortly after I settled I spotted Jude on stage getting his guitar. I thought I saw him look into my direction, but before he left though he did smile and wave in my general area so I waved back. Assuming that was to me. *blush*

Jeff Russo.

When the Low Stars started the seats in front of me were not full. I mean when they were doing individual intros it was probably just me and 4 other pairs of hands clapping. A little disappointing as I wanted them to have a nice crowd to play for. Also with the empty seats all around me I couldn't really take photos since there was security in view. Not that it mattered because there was the designated radio station photographer. Of course what really matters was the music! It filled the mid-afternoon sky beautifully.

Dave Gibbs.

Setlist:

- Just Around The Corner
- Child (A bee flew by my head and landed on the wrist of the guy sitting next to me. I swear he was sleeping through half the set).
- Need A Friend
- Love, Love, Love (Jeff Russo had some business going on his guitar so there was a slight stall in the start of this song. Chris Seefried had some virtual shakers going on. They sounded great. Haha. Jude also fit in a little made-up story in the middle of this song about how the radio station got "The Mountain" for their name.
- Sometimes It Rains (especially in Seattle, but we had a nice partial clouds day. 70 degrees. Slight breeze.)
- Bulls On Parade (Rage Against The Machine cover. This song was introduced as one about cattle. Around me I could here, "What? Cattle?". Dave Gibbs started takling about the olden days in the early 90's when it was colder. How there wasn't a myspace or youtube. Jude chimed in saying back then they only had one guitar string. Dave pointed out a lady in the back and they asked for her name. The reply was "Whoo" so Jude carried on the joke that her name was "Whoo" and the song was dedicated as such.)
- Can't Live Without Your Love (This was sort of funny because Jeff started laughing when he started the song. Like a pro though he made through it an me into an oozy little puddle)
- There was some dialogue here from Dave about how there wasn't a lot to love about him. (Aww) That he got audited twice. That his car just has primer on it. Jude chimed in about online gambling habits. That was funny. Then Jude went on to find a guy with a name that rhymes with "Whoo" like "Lou" or "Poo." From the distance some woman was yelling something. Dave mentioned how it sounded like "Whoo Jude" and how he'd like to see that show. Jude said it would be him going through his daily life and following him 100 yards away there she would be yelling "Whoo.".
- Calling All Friends
- Justified (finished off the night...so sad to see their set end so quickly.)

Jude.

After the set I waited around in my seat for awhile until out of the corner of my eye I saw Jude. So I went over there to say "hello." I didn't think my chances of running into him were good, but I took the opportunity to try. There were some people around him and I was the last to approach. Guess he remembers me pretty well. It's not just anyone can spell my name right. Had him sign my Low Stars cd and he asked me how many of those I had. I said 5, so that's what he wrote on my cd. I didn't have time really to talk to him too long as he mentioned he was going to eat. I just told him where the general food vendors were located and I really tripped up on his greetings from certain people who wanted to send their wishes. He also said the other guys were going to be around. With that he went behind the gate again and I went to get some food myself.

Goodness there was a fight for the crab cakes. Well, there could've been. I ordered mine first and the guy behind me decided to take all of the rest. So there I was waiting forever when they almost gave my cakes to this guy. Nooo! I sat at a nearby table where I punched out that quick blog post about being at the show. I was still eating when Marc Broussard took the stage. Wow, it sounded fantastic so I headed back.

Marc Broussard.

Now I don't really know too much about the other 3 bands on the bill, with the exception of the Los Lonely Boys because that "Heaven" song was everywhere when it was released. I was greatly impressed by Marc though. Very bluesy, rock quality and he puts on a great show. People got up to dance, and I actually went up to the stage for a bit. Security actually started to put people back to their seats, but he said he would stop playing and leave if they put back one more person.

Marc Broussard.

Out of the corner of my eye I could see Chris Seefried and Jeff Russo taking in the set. They would appear a few more times throughout the night along with Dave Gibbs. Back to Marc, I'll really have to check out his cds. If he could get the guy sitting next to me to dance, it must be good.

Toad The Wet Sprocket. I've heard the name for years, but it was one of those bands that I never really sought out to listen to. They felt a little nervous coming on after Marc's big splash on the evening, but they put on a very nice performance as well and had their own crowd in the little pit area. I did recognize a few of the songs they played, but don't hold me accountable for their titles!

Toad The Wet Sprocket.

I never intended to stay as long as I did, but I thought I would stick it through at least the first couple of numbers by the Los Lonely Boys. After that I called it a night. Fun times.
